ABOUT THE INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (INDIA)

The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers. It was established in 1920 with its headquarters located in Kolkata. The institution was incorporated under the Royal Charter on September 9, 1935, by His Majesty King George V. The Royal Charter bestowed the institution with the responsibility to promote the general advancement of engineering among its members and individuals associated with the institution. After Independence, the institution became a "Body Corporate" protected under Article 372 of the Constitution of India. The Institution of Engineers (India) is administered by a National Council with the President as its head.

INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (INDIA)

The Kollam Local Centre of IEl was established in 2010, housed in the campus of TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. At present, 1757 members attached to this centre and it covers the districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
